Celebrate Asian Heritage Month with captivating stories, hands-on activities, and celestial exploration at First Fridays at The Manitoba Museum! This special event offers FREE admission to all three core galleries – Museum Galleries, Planetarium, and Science Gallery – on Friday, May 3rd from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Immerse Yourself at First Fridays
● Planetarium Shows: Unveiling Asian Constellations: Journey through the stars and discover celestial myths from China, India, Japan, and Korea. Shows run every half hour from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
● Stories from the Collection – The Ong Family Collection: Gain a unique perspective on Asian heritage through a series of short films at First Fridays. Hear Thomas Rempel-Ong share the fascinating story behind his family’s eclectic collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents, chronicling their migration from Mainland China to Hong Kong and finally, Canada. (Winnipeg Gallery Theatre, 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm)
