Tim Hortons is doing a massive hiring push across Canada right now, and yeah, Winnipeg locations are fully in on it. If you’ve been hunting for a job lately—or know someone whose kid is desperately trying to get off the couch this summer—this is actually worth a look.

Word is Tims is trying to bring on roughly 10,000 workers nationwide this year. They just launched a big ad campaign about it today, mostly because they’re opening a bunch of new spots and hitting that usual summer rush.

If you scroll through Indeed right now, local postings are popping up all over the place—Regent, St. Vital, Downtown, McPhillips, you name it.

The Whole “Local Hiring” Thing

There’s a reason this is getting some extra chatter online.

Tims is openly framing this as a hard pivot back to “local hiring.” They basically admitted that with youth unemployment being what it is right now, they're scaling back on the Temporary Foreign Worker program (apparently TFWs only make up about 3.6% of their staff now).

Whatever your take is on that whole saga, the reality is there are actual entry-level jobs on the table right now for local students and anyone needing flexible hours.

The Real Pay Situation

Just a heads-up on the wages: some older posts floating around might say $15.30 or whatever, but remember Manitoba’s minimum wage bumped up to $16.00/hour last fall.

So legally, you’re starting at 16 bucks minimum for entry-level. Shift supervisors are usually tracking closer to the $18/hour mark.

(Though obviously, it’s franchise-dependent, so always double-check the specific location).
