Manitoba workers rejoice as minimum wage reaches $15.30
If you are a minimum wage earner in Manitoba, you have a reason to celebrate this October. Thanks to the legislative amendments passed by the government, you will be making $3.35 per hour more than you were in September 2022. This means that Manitoba has one of the highest minimum wages in Canada.

Labour and Immigration Minister Jon Reyes said that the government wanted to help Manitobans cope with the financial challenges they face and also support small businesses. That’s why they implemented a phased-in approach that increased the minimum wage by $1.55 in October 2022, by 65 cents in April 2023 and by another $1.15 in October 2023.
The minister also reminded small businesses that they can apply for the Small Business Minimum Wage Adjustment Program until March 31 to receive a one-time lump sum payment. For more information on this program and other employment standards, visit the government websites listed below.
