A Star-Studded Cast

Mark Hamill, the legendary Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, and Judy Greer, who you might know from Arrested Development and Jurassic World, are now part of this amazing project. They’re joining a fantastic lineup that includes Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, and Roman Griffin Davis. This movie is shaping up to be something special!

The Plot Thickens

For those who haven’t read the book, The Long Walk is set in a dystopian America where 100 teenage boys are forced to walk non-stop in a brutal contest. If they slow down, well, let’s just say the consequences are pretty dire. It’s intense, gripping, and perfect for a thrilling movie experience.

While it’s not officially confirmed, there’s speculation that Mark Hamill might play The Major, the principal antagonist who oversees the dystopian competition, and Judy Greer could be portraying Mrs. Garraty, the mother of the protagonist, Ray Garraty. These roles are pivotal to the story and add even more depth to this already thrilling narrative.

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates on The Long Walk. Who knows, you might even spot Mark Hamill or Judy Greer around town! Let’s show them some good old Manitoba hospitality!

Filming in Manitoba

Manitoba’s stunning landscapes and welcoming film community make it the perfect spot for this production. From the peaceful beauty of Birds Hill Provincial Park to the vibrant streets of Winnipeg, our province is providing the perfect backdrop for King’s eerie and atmospheric story.

Behind the Scenes

The film is directed by Francis Lawrence, the genius behind The Hunger Games series, and written by JT Mollner. With such a talented team, you know they’re going to do justice to King’s dark and thought-provoking novel. Plus, Lawrence is producing the film along with Roy Lee, Cameron MacConomy, and Steven Schneider.
