Red River College’s After School Leaders – Culinary Arts program is a tuition-free online program focusing on introducing Winnipeg youth aged 14-18 to professional culinary arts. Online classes run February 15 to May 17. Application deadline is January 31.
Students will learn culinary basics, menu planning, recipes, and the techniques used by top chefs. The program inspires youth and prepares them for the working world ahead.
At the end of this program, students will have:
- WHMIS training
- Food Handler’s exam
- Basic introduction to culinary terminology and technique
- Skills to follow recipes
- Fluency in measurements
- Basic knife skills
