Free Forklift Safety Training in Winnipeg

Every now and then something pops up that makes you think, “Okay, this could really help somebody.” This is one of those things.. If you’ve been trying to boost your skills, switch things up, or just get your foot back in the door somewhere steady, this might be the sign you’ve been waiting for.

The WERC Employment Training Program is offering FREE Forklift Safety Training & Certification, and yes… actually free. The catch? Seats are super limited — like, “blink and they’re gone” limited. Only 8 spots per session. Honestly, it feels like trying to find street parking on Ellice when there’s something going on at the university.

The info session is set for December 5th at 10:00 AM, but you’ve gotta be quick. Pre-registration closes December 2nd at 3:00 PM, and they won't take walk-ins. You can scan the QR code on their poster if you’ve got the eyesight of a hawk, or just use the link like a normal person:

📍 Location: West End Resource Centre (WERC), 823 Ellice Avenue, Winnipeg

Eligibility & Requirements

Now, before anyone packs their lunch and heads out, here’s what you’ll need to qualify:
You must be 18+, living in Winnipeg, unemployed or underemployed (less than 20 hours a week), and able to work in Canada with a valid SIN. They also want folks who are actually job-hunting — not just “thinking about maybe looking when the weather’s nicer.” English level needs to be around CLB 5+, and there’s a bit of essential skills training plus an interview and assessment.

The cool part? This is real forklift training — none of that “click next to get certified” online stuff. You’ll learn the proper way, hands-on, the way Manitoban warehouse folks have been doing it forever.

Why This Training Matters

If you’re looking to get into shipping, receiving, warehouse work, or anything with pallets and power jacks, this kind of certification can open doors quietly but quickly.

So yes — if you’re trying to level up your game, or just get back into something reliable, toss your name in before those eight seats vanish. Winnipeg loves a good “second wind” story… maybe this one’s yours.
