Transcona Hi Neighbour Festival Overview

Transcona Hi Neighbour Festival: Winnipeg’s 61st Annual Summer Celebration

The Transcona Hi Neighbour Festival is one of Winnipeg’s longest-running and most beloved community traditions, celebrating its 61st year in 2026. This multi-day event transforms the heart of Transcona into a vibrant hub of local pride, bringing together residents and visitors for an unforgettable weekend of summer excitement.

Held annually along Regent Avenue West, the festival offers a perfect blend of high-energy entertainment and small-town charm. Visitors can expect a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere with activities centered around Transcona Centennial Square and the surrounding streets.

The Midway & Amusement Rides

The festival’s heart is the massive midway operated by Select Shows. Featuring classic carnival games and a wide array of rides—from the gentle carousel for little ones to high-intensity thrill rides—it remains a highlight for all ages.

Tip: While festival entry is free, unlimited ride wristbands are available for purchase on-site.

  • Kids' Zone: Dedicated areas for face painting, bouncy castles, and interactive performers like balloon artists and mascots.
  • Pancake Breakfast & Seniors' Bingo: Authentic community events that welcome everyone to join the neighborhood spirit.

The Signature Parade & Community Events

The Saturday morning parade is a festival staple, featuring creative floats, local organizations, and marching bands winding through the streets of Transcona. It is widely considered one of the best community parades in the city.
