🎡 Free Admission, Discounts at the Red River Ex 2025 – Here’s What to Know

The Red River Ex is back from June 13 to 22, 2025, and if you’re hoping to check it out without spending too much, there are some really good options this year—free days, discounts, and even a full free day for frontline workers.

Came across all the details and thought it’d be helpful to share everything in one spot, especially for anyone planning a visit with family or on a budget!

📅 Free Admission Days

There are a few days where you can walk in totally free—but only during specific time slots, so timing is key.

  • Friday, June 13 (Opening Night) – Free entry from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

  • Sunday, June 15 (Family Day) – Free from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

  • Sunday, June 22 (Filipino Day & Kids’ Day) – Free again from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

If you’re trying to go with kids or in a group, these one-hour windows are a great way to enjoy the atmosphere without paying at the gate.

🛡️ Heroes’ Day – A Full Free Day for Frontline Workers

This is a really nice gesture: Monday, June 16 is Heroes’ Day, and that means free admission all day for military personnel, police, firefighters, paramedics, nurses, and teachers. Just bring your work ID to get in. If you know someone in one of these roles, it could be a great day to tag along.

💸 Discounted Days & Other Ways to Save

If the free admission times don’t line up, there are still solid ways to save a few bucks:

  • Advance Tickets (until June 12)

    • Gate admission: $15 + GST (around $18 total)

    • Magic Pass (gate + all-day rides): around $60

  • Weekday Deal (June 16–19)

    • Show up before 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, and get in for just $10

Also worth knowing—kids 6 and under always get in free!

🎟️ Regular Admission

If you’re just heading down during regular hours and buying at the gate, the standard ticket is $18 per person (ages 7+). Still fun, but it adds up quick if you’re with a group, so those free or discounted options can make a difference.

🗓️ Themed Days & Events to Look Out For

There’s something special planned for almost every day. Here are a few highlights:

  • June 13 – Opening Night + free hour

  • June 14 – Caribbean Day

  • June 15 – Family Day (free hour + family programming)

  • June 16 – Heroes’ Day (free all day for frontline workers)

  • June 17 – Canada Rocks Day

  • June 18 – Baby Boomer Day

  • June 19 – Date Night

  • June 20 – Country Day

  • June 21 – Indigenous Peoples Day

  • June 22 – Filipino Day & Kids’ Day (free hour + lots of kids' activities)

✅ Tips to Make the Most of It

  • Get tickets early if you’re planning to go anyway—it’s cheaper.

  • Weekday visits before 5 pm are great if you want to avoid the big weekend crowds and save money.

  • Arrive early on the free admission days—lines can build up fast, especially right before the hour starts.

  • Don’t forget ID if you're going on Heroes’ Day.

  • Rides cost extra—so even if gate admission is free, you’ll still need to buy a ride wristband or tickets if you want to hit the midway.
