The Midway is Back! Canuck Amusements Just Dropped Their 2026 Schedule

Is it just me, or does that first sight of the giant Ferris wheel frame being hauled down Route 90 officially mean more than any weather forecast?

I’ve been refreshing their page like a madman because, honestly, summer just isn’t summer without at least one bag of overpriced (but totally worth it) mini donuts and a slightly dizzy walk back to the car.

They finally posted the full 2026 tour dates, and it's a packed one!

The Grand Kickoff: Winnipeg & Early Spring Vibes

If you’re local, you know the drill. They’re starting right here at home. If you can’t wait for that first sugar rush, here’s where to find 'em:

  • Kildonan Place Mall: They’re basically moving into the KP parking lot for three straight weekends! Catch them April 24–26, May 1–3, and May 8–10.
  • Tyndall Park Community Centre: This one is always a great neighborhood vibe. They'll be there May 1–3.
  • Pine Falls Fair: May 14–16.
  • Opaskwayak Fair: May 22–24.
  • Creighton Trout Festival: Crossing over into SK for the end of May (May 29–31).

The Summer Road Trip Tour (June & July)

Once the kids are out of school and the mosquitoes really start buzzing, the midway hits the highway. If you're heading out to the lake or visiting the cousins, keep an eye out for these:

  • Cross Lake Fair: June 4–7
  • Norway House Fair: June 11–14
  • Thompson Nickel Days: June 18–21
  • Swan River Museum Fair: June 19–21
  • Humboldt Summer Sizzler & Carlyle Fun Dayz: A double-header weekend on June 26–28.
  • Weyburn Agricultural Fair: July 2–4
  • Warman Days: July 9–12
  • La Ronge Elks Fair: July 17–19
  • Christopher Lake Western Days: July 23–25
  • Northwest Round Up (Swan River): July 23–26

A Little Trip to Ontario (August)

For our friends out east or anyone spending August in Lake of the Woods territory, they’ve got a solid month in Northern Ontario:

  • Thunder Bay (CLE): August 5–9 (The big one!)
  • Murillo Fair: August 14–16
  • Dryden Fall Fair: August 20–22
  • Kenora Agricultural Fair: August 28–30

One Last Ride: The Fall Finish (September)

If you missed the spring run, don't sweat it. They’re doing a “second chance” loop through the North to wrap things up before the snow flies:

  • Opaskwayak Fair: September 4–6
  • Cross Lake Fall Fair: September 11–13
  • Norway House Fall Fair: September 18–20

The “Real Talk” on Costs

Look, I don’t work for these guys—I’m just the guy who likes the Zipper way too much for a grown adult—but here’s the budget lowdown.

Usually, admission to the grounds is free at most of these stops, which is a lifesaver if you just want to walk around and soak up the lights. Last year, all-day wristbands were $35.

Now, full disclaimer: prices for admission and wristbands can definitely change (we all know how everything is getting pricier lately), so maybe tuck away an extra tenner just in case.

Pro tip: Grab some actual cash at the ATM before you go. Most of the food trucks are tech-savvy now, but those carnival games? Still very much a “cash is king” situation.

So, who's joining me at KP for opening weekend? Or are you a die-hard fall fair fan?

Let me know which ride is your absolute “must-do” this year—I'll be the one trying not to drop my snow cone!
