Overview

Science Rendezvous is Manitoba’s largest hands-on science and engineering festival! The event is open to everyone and free to attend.

Join us on Saturday, May 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University of Manitoba, Fort Garry campus, for Manitoba’s largest hands-on science and engineering festival! This event is free to attend and open to everyone!

Looking for family-friendly science activities?

With over 60 interactive science booths, Science Rendezvous volunteers are excited to welcome everyone and show them how fun science is!

From outdoor and active experiences like the chance to encase yourself in a giant bubble or attempt to run across the oobleck run, to calmer ones like the outdoor Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre Show, we have something for every member of the family!

This year’s theme is IGNITE!

This is the time for you and your family to ignite your excitement, spark some joy, fuel your curiosity and feel the magic of science! There is so much to explore:

  • Stop by “Atomic Curiosities” where we use uranium glass, a Geiger counter and UV flashlights to explain how radioactivity works
  • Are rockets a hot topic in your household these days? You and the little ones accompanying you can build rockets, hit targets and get a “Rocket Scientist” badge
  • The Human-Computer Interaction research group is excited to open its doors and showcase its research with robots using fun demonstrations, games and hands-on learning
