Enjoy skating under the stars at the Riley Family Duck Pond in Assiniboine Park. Warm up at the Cargo Bar pop-up patio with hot drinks and local beverages.

Winter has finally arrived! ❄️⛸️ The Assiniboine Park is thrilled to announce that the Riley Family Duck Pond will open for skating starting this Friday, December 29!

Skate under the stars – new enhanced lighting around the Duck Pond will create an inviting atmosphere for an evening skate.

The shelter adjacent to the Duck Pond will be open daily from 7:00 am – 10:00 pm for washroom access and warm up.

The Cargo Bar pop-up patio, located next to the Duck Pond, will also open for the season on Friday! Gather around cozy fire pits and enjoy hot chocolate, coffee, cider, and a selection of local craft beers, wine, and specialty cocktails.

Cargo Bar will be open Fridays from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

⚠️ Reminder: Hockey sticks and pucks are not allowed on the Duck Pond. Please stay off the ice when plowing and flooding is underway.
