A lucky Winnipegger will be celebrating a big win after matching the winning number in the Gold Ball draw of LOTTO 6/49 on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. The lucky ticket holder won $1 million. The winning number for the Gold Ball draw was 38325186-01 and the ball drawn was white. The Gold Ball draw is a new feature of LOTTO 6/49 that gives players a chance to win $1 million every draw by matching a unique eight-digit number printed on their ticket.
In Wednesday’s draw, a white ball was drawn, meaning the Winnipeg winner received the $1 million prize and the Gold Ball jackpot increased to $28 million for the next draw on May 20, 20231.
The Classic Draw jackpot of $5 million was won in Ontario. The Classic Draw numbers were 16 25 28 40 47 49 and the bonus number 7.
Winnipeg has been on a roll lately as this is the third time in about seven weeks that someone in the city has won $1 million or greater. On March 31, 2023, a Winnipeg couple won $60 million on LOTTO MAX. On May 3, 2023, another Winnipegger won $1 million on LOTTO 6/49.
Congratulations to the latest winner and good luck to all the players for the next draw!
UPDATE: This article has been modified on May 18, 1:53 PM. It previously stated that the Classic Draw jackpaot was not won but in fact, there is a lucky winner in Ontario.
