From 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, if you head into an IHOP:

• The “Free” Part: You get a short stack of those classic buttermilk pancakes.
• The “Good Human” Part: They’re asking for a donation in exchange.
• The Sweetener: For every $5 you toss in the donation jar, they’re handing back a $5 IHOP gift card to use on a future visit.

While IHOP does not list a fixed donation amount, the bonus gift card is issued in $5 increments.

Basically, if you donate $10, you get your pancakes right then and $10 in “pancake credit” for later. It’s a win-win—you’re basically pre-paying for a future brunch and the charity gets the cash immediately.

Why it actually matters
