Girls Play Football Is Coming Back to WSF South This Winter

If you’re looking for a way to get your daughter active before spring hits, the Blue Bombers just announced the 2026 dates for GirlsPlayFootball.

If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a free non-contact program for girls (ages 8–14). It’s basically a massive skills camp where they can try out the sport without having to commit to a full season or buy a bunch of expensive gear. It’s super low-pressure—mostly just drills and running around the turf.

The Details

It’s all happening at the WSF Soccer South (the big complex over by U of M on Chancellor Matheson). They’re doing six Saturdays through February and March, all at 1:15 PM.

2026 Dates

  • February 1 & 22
  • March 1
  • March 8
  • March 15
  • March 22

What to Bring & Why It’s Worth It

Since it’s inside on the turf, they just need runners (or indoor cleats if they have them), gym clothes, and a water bottle. You don’t need to worry about pads or helmets—the Bombers provide everything they need for the drills.

It’s a solid program, especially since it’s totally free and run by people who actually know the game. Plus, it’s a good excuse to get out of the house during those messy February weekends.

If you know anyone with kids in that age range, definitely let them know. These free spots usually fill up pretty fast once registration opens.
