Attention nature lovers! 🌿🌸🌳 Join us at The Leaf for a party for the planet in celebration of Earth Day and Earth Month! 🌎🎉
We have a fun-filled day of activities planned, including a plant giveaway to kick start your vegetable garden 🍅🌶️, workshops on plants, trees, and butterflies 🦋, crafting your own seeds and learning about vermicomposting 🐛, and sustainable storytime with drag artists from Sunshine House 📚🌈.
Plus, the first 200 visitors to the biomes will receive a gift of plantable seed paper 🌱, and we’ll have live music in the Mediterranean biome in the evening 🎶.

Plant Giveaway

Pick up a tomato or pepper plant to help kick start your vegetable garden!

Plants, Trees and all Things Green!
Location: Tannis M. Richardson Classroom inside The Leaf
Families will explore the different parts of a tree and learn to distinguish between coniferous and deciduous trees. Take a closer look at tree cookies and explore the inner world of a tree!

Butterfly Mindfulness
Location: Tannis M. Richardson Classroom inside The Leaf
Families are invited to connect to the present moment through mindful movement while learning breathing techniques to bring calm to the mind and body all while learning about the lifecycles of butterflies!

Learn how to start your own vermicomposting bin, see a bin in action, and say hi to the wiggling worms that help turn leftovers into the best gardening compost.

Sustainable Storytime with Drag Artists from Sunshine House

Storytime begins every half hour
Witness a spectacular natural wonder at the Narcisse Snake Dens! Every spring, from late April to mid-May, tens of thousands of red-sided garter snakes emerge for mating season. Explore the dens via a safe, self-guided trail and learn about these fascinating creatures. This incredible event takes place just outside Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
