The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) is offering free admission to children 12 and under during Spring Break, from March 23 to 31, 2024 (closed on March 25).
Activities for Children:
Story Time and Book Nook: Families can enjoy children’s books related to human rights. Staff will be reading aloud a featured book every hour, alternating between English and French stories.
Art as Action: This activity lets children explore how art can be used for human rights advocacy through three different stations:
Art as Community: Create a textile-based craft and learn about yarn bombing, featured in the Inspiring Change gallery.
Art as Memory: Explore picture books and graphic novels to understand how art can preserve human rights stories, like the fire bag in Indigenous Perspectives.
Art as Action: Make buttons about human rights issues you care about, connecting to the Beyond the Beat: Music of Resistance and Change exhibition.
