For the seventh consecutive year, the Economic Development Council for Manitoba’s Bilingual Municipalities (CDEM), in collaboration with Cinémental, the Alliance française du Manitoba and Freeze Frame, is pleased to present Movies Under the Stars from Thursday, June 5 to Thursday, August 28, 2025. Movies Under the Stars offers screenings of French-language films, accessible to all thanks to the presence of English subtitles. This is a completely free event that takes place every Thursday during the summer in the ruins of St. Boniface Cathedral. Cinema Under the Stars offers the public free outdoor screenings of French-language films, with English subtitles, in the ruins of St. Boniface Cathedral every Thursday evening. To optimize your experience, it is recommended that you bring your own chair and mosquito repellent. Chairs are available at the St. Boniface Cathedral if needed. The Cathedral restrooms are accessible throughout the event.
In case of rain…
In case of adverse weather conditions, the event will be canceled. Those registered with 233-ALLÔ will be notified by email on the day of the event, and cancellations will be announced on the website and social media.

Please note that for Cinema Under the Stars, registration closes around noon every Thursday for the same-day film. If you would like to attend tonight’s screening, you can check in at the Cathedral.
