Free Bike Mechanic Program by The WRENCH

The WRENCH is a non-profit organization that offers a range of hands-on courses designed to empower cyclists of all levels. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, they have something for everyone. Their courses include bike repair workshops,

The ASL program is a 24-workshop series that provides high school-aged participants with well-rounded bicycle mechanic training and employment skills. Participants learn everything from fundamental to advanced bicycle mechanics, frame painting and frame prep, and some road riding skills. In the process, participants build up two bicycles from scratch and get to keep one for themselves. This program is free for registered high school students throughout Winnipeg. A meal is provided and bus tickets can be covered by the program if needed.

Their bike repair workshops are taught by experienced mechanics who will teach you the basics of bike maintenance, from tire changes to brake adjustments, all the way to complete tear downs and rebuilds, keeping your ride in top-notch condition.

The WRENCH is located at 95 Gertie Street in Winnipeg. The ASL program runs on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 – 7:30pm starting October 16th, 2023 until January 17th, 2024. The cost of this program is free for registered high school students throughout Winnipeg.
