Tips to Stay Safe:

  • Travel: If you must travel, make sure someone knows your plans. Pack an emergency kit with essentials like water, snacks, medicine, a flashlight, and a first-aid kit.
  • Emergency Plan: Prepare an emergency plan ahead of time and keep checking for updates from Environment Canada.
  • Stay Indoors: The safest option is to avoid going out unless absolutely necessary. Staying inside will help keep you warm and safe.
  • Driving: If visibility becomes poor, turn on your lights and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. If you get stuck, stay in your vehicle—it will protect you from the cold.
