Assiniboine Park's Nature Playground To Reopen On June 21

Assiniboine Park's Nature Playground is set to reopen its gates on June 21, 10:30 AM, just in time for summer fun! Families, nature enthusiasts, and adventure seekers can look forward to an exciting experience in this vibrant outdoor space. But the playground's been getting a bit of a makeover lately, so what's the story?

The playground's been around for 13 years now, a total hangout for families, school trips, and picnics. Kids have been climbing the structures, digging in the sand, and exploring the area for over a decade. No surprise, it's gotten a bit worn out.

The park's giving the playground a bit of a makeover, you know, fixing stuff that's showing its age. Think creaky swings and wobbly bridges. They're just making sure everything is safe and fun to use.

There'll also be some new additions! The folks at Assiniboine Park Conservancy (APC) are keeping it under wraps for now, but imagine finding a couple of new things alongside all the familiar favorites.

So why now? They say it's not a huge change, just a refresh. But why close it during summer? Apparently some of the work needs warm weather and can't be done in winter. Gotta take advantage of the sunshine!

Mark your calendars for June 21st! Whether you've been going to the playground since it opened or it's your first time, there's something for everyone. Get ready for a mix of happy memories and maybe a couple of new surprises at Assiniboine Park's Nature Playground!
