Teddy Bear Picnic Needs Volunteers!

The Teddy Bear Picnic is a beloved event that happens every year at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is a day full of fun, learning, and entertainment for children and families who love teddy bears. The event also supports the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, which helps children in need of medical care.

The Teddy Bear Picnic is looking for volunteers who can help with different tasks, such as:

  • Setting up and taking down tents, tables, chairs, and signs
  • Assisting with registration, information, and donation booths
  • Helping with games, crafts, and face painting
  • And more!

Healthcare professionals are also needed to volunteer at the Dr. Goodbear Clinic and the I Want to be a Scientist tent. These are two of the most popular activity tents at the event, where children can learn about medicine and science with their teddy bears. The volunteers will have the opportunity to:

  • Triage and treat teddy bears with various ailments and injuries
  • Perform MRIs, X-rays, and casting on teddy bears
  • Explain and demonstrate scientific concepts and experiments to children
  • Inspire and encourage children to pursue careers in healthcare and research
  • And more!

Volunteering at the Teddy Bear Picnic is a wonderful way to:

  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Gain valuable skills and experience
  • Support a worthy cause and give back to the community
  • Have fun and enjoy the outdoors
  • And of course, cuddle with a teddy bear!

Anyone who is interested in volunteering at the Teddy Bear Picnic can fill out this online form. A staff member will contact them with more details and instructions. They can also visit the website or the Facebook page for more information about the event.

The Teddy Bear Picnic will take place on September 8, 2024 from 9 AM to 5 PM. at Assiniboine Park.
