Free Mobile Ski Library Returns to Winnipeg Parks

The Free Mobile Ski Library is a program that allows anyone to borrow cross-country skis, boots, poles, and other winter equipment for free. The mobile ski library travels to various parks around the city, where you can pick up the gear and hit the trails. You can also join free ski lessons, skating lessons, and other winter events hosted by the Winnipeg Trails Association and its partners.

The Free Mobile Ski Library is part of the WinterPeg project, which aims to make winter activities accessible and affordable for all. The project also includes grooming ski trails in 30 parks across the city, creating a map of trails and their conditions, and planting trees along the streets to provide shade and beauty.

The Free Mobile Ski Library is made possible by donations from individuals and businesses, as well as grants from the City of Winnipeg and the Province of Manitoba. The program runs from December to March, depending on the weather and the availability of volunteers.
