Winnipeg Folk Festival’s Festival Security Program: Experience Music and Security (Earn Your Security Guard License!)

The Festival Security Program is a highly-skilled, dedicated group of volunteers who provide support during incidents and ensure general crowd safety using a people-centered approach. The program consists of 120 hours of training, and participants will earn their provincial security guard license and many other certifications. The training program is free for participants, and it provides valuable work experience in a supportive and welcoming environment.

The Security Folk Crew is made up of licensed security guards and graduates of the WFF’s internal Festival Security Program. They have 120+ hours of training, including areas in safer spaces, anti-oppression, violence, harassment and abuse prevention, consent culture, harm reduction, effective communication, and Psychological First Aid. The program is designed to help volunteers build their skills and gain work experience in a supportive and welcoming environment.

If you’re interested in volunteering for the Winnipeg Folk Festival’s Festival Security Program, you can apply online. The deadline to apply is December 15, 2023. Winnipeg Folk Fest is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive atmosphere.
