Free Welding & Metal Fabrication Training in Winnipeg – Don’t Miss Out!

If you or someone you know is looking to break into the welding and metal fabrication world, here’s an awesome opportunity. The Winnipeg Industrial Skills Training Centre (WISTC) is offering a FREE 6-month training program for Manitobans who qualify. Yep, you read that right—free training!

What’s on Offer:

Training starts July 14, 2025, and it’s a great chance to get hands-on experience with the skills that are in demand across industries. With over 42 years of experience, WISTC’s training program can set you up for success in the world of welding and metal fabrication.

Who Can Apply?

WISTC is offering two programs, so there’s something for everyone who meets the eligibility criteria:

1. MAC Program

For Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or those with a Canadian Language Benchmark above 5. You must be:

  • Unemployed or working less than 20 hours per week.

  • An active or former EI claimant in the last 60 months.

  • Over 18 years old and able to perform basic math and English tasks at a Grade 10 level.

2. REDI Program

For newcomers, refugees, permanent residents, or Canadian citizens with a Canadian Language Benchmark of 4 or lower. Eligibility includes:

  • On Employment & Income Assistance (EIA) or at risk of depending on it.

  • Over 18 years old and working less than 20 hours per week.

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
