The Winnipeg Art Gallery has created an online portal called WAG from home, which includes lots of interesting content for kids, families and adults so you can explore the gallery from the comfort of your home. They have DIY videos teaching you how to make art at home, including coloring activities. The website will also have a collection of interviews from over the years and stories with artists. In the near future there will be a few sneak peek virtual tours coming up, so stay tuned for that.
WAG at home also includes My Daily Art. Dr. Stephen Boys is sharing an artwork every day until the WAG reopens, from the community’s collection. He will be sharing his own personal reflections about the piece and an interesting story. You can go to their website or follow along on social media every day. The WAG is home to 27,000 works of art with all different types of media, different cultures, from different centuries.
