Spooktacular Halloween Hike 🎃🍬🌲

Date & Time:

Saturday, October 25, 2025 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM CDT
Three times available: 11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM

Location: Chickadee Trail, Birds Hill Park

Bundle up the family and join the 5th Annual Halloween Hike at Chickadee Trail in Birds Hill Park! Dress in your spookiest or silliest costumes and enjoy fun activity stations, sweet treats, and plenty of fresh fall air. It’s a magical way to spend the afternoon before trick-or-treating night.

Trail Highlights

  • Length: 2 km (with a longer option of 4 km)
  • Average Time: ~1 hour 30 minutes with activities
  • Type: Loop
  • Accessibility: Wheelchair – not accessible (some incline/uneven terrain); Stroller – accessible
  • Bathrooms: Outhouse
  • Parking: Medium lot + street parking
  • Dogs: Must be leashed

What to Bring

  • Weather-appropriate clothing and layers
  • Comfortable, sturdy shoes
  • Snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer
  • Any required medication (EpiPen, inhaler, etc.)
  • Optional: Safety whistle, flashlight, first-aid kit

How to Get There

Set GPS to Chickadee Trailhead or follow:

  1. Drive to West Gate of Birds Hill Park (Highway 59)
  2. Take North Drive
  3. Turn left at Chickadee Trail sign into the parking lot

About the Event

This bilingual event is offered in partnership with Sports en Français, supporting Manitoba’s Francophone community through sport and physical activity in French. While French is not required, Francophones, Francophiles, and English speakers are welcome to join.

The CPAWS Nature Club helps Manitobans of all ages enjoy the health and wellness benefits of nature through events and programming.

Safety & Weather

CPAWS Manitoba prioritizes participant safety. Staff undergo background checks and at least one leader with children holds first aid certification. Weather may cause cancellation if hazardous; registrants will be notified by email in advance.

Free Admission to Winnipeg Police Museum
