Get ready to declutter your home and discover hidden gems at Winnipeg’s bi-annual Giveaway Weekend happening on September 13-14 , 2025. This city-wide event allows residents to give unwanted but reusable items a second life, promoting sustainability and fostering a treasure hunt atmosphere.
What Treasures Await?
The possibilities are endless! Here are some common finds at the Winnipeg Free Giveaway Weekend:
- Books, CDs, DVDs
- Furniture, electronics, artwork, mirrors
- Sports equipment, toys
- Yard and gardening tools
- Small appliances, kitchen gadgets, dishes
- Construction materials (nails, paint, wood)
- Clothing
What Not to Give Away:
- Items with bed bugs (mattresses, bedding)
- Toilets exceeding a 13-liter flush volume
- Unsafe items (refer to Consumer Product Safety Bureau guidelines)

- Large items can be scheduled for pick-up by calling 1-800-PLS-GIVE.
- Construction materials should be disposed of at designated landfills.
