Downtown Family Movie Nights presented by the WCB invites the public to experience a magical cinematic evening under the stars. Two FREE evenings of fun, entertainment, and community bonding await attendees, featuring family-friendly films, activities, and delicious local snacks.

AUGUST 19: ENCANTO AUGUST 30: WONKA

TIME: Programming starts at 6 p.m., movie begins at 8:30 p.m.LOCATION: Bonnycastle Park – 260 Assiniboine Avenue ADMISSION: FREE

SCHEDULE

● 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.: Giant games, inflatables, face painting, photo booth, arts & crafts workshops, cotton candy, food vendors, and more!

● 7:00 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Family dance party, featuring music by live DJs.

● 8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.: Featured movie

Encanto, Disney’s magical film about the extraordinary Madrigal Family, transports audiences to a beautiful Colombian village and celebrates the power of family and heartwarming music. Bring a picnic blanket and sing along to this 2021 blockbuster’s hits like “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “The Family Madrigal”.

Wonka, the 2023 prequel to the classic “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, takes viewers back to the origins of the famous chocolatier. Discover young Willy Wonka’s early days and his dream of opening his own chocolate shop.

A VIP Seating Contest is underway on Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s Instagram page. Participants can enter for a chance to win prime viewing spots for their family, ensuring a perfect view of the big screen. To add an extra layer of fun and creativity, attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite characters.
