Free Family Fishing Weekend in Manitoba

Get ready to cast a line during Manitoba’s Free Family Fishing Weekend, happening June 14–16, 2026. For three days, anglers of all ages can fish without a licence on lakes, rivers, and streams across the province—making it the perfect opportunity for families and beginners to experience fishing together.

This province-wide event encourages outdoor fun while showcasing Manitoba’s incredible freshwater fishing opportunities. Whether it’s your first time holding a rod or a yearly tradition, it’s a great way to enjoy nature, bond with family, and maybe even reel in walleye, northern pike, or perch.

What You Need to Know

No fishing licence required during the weekend (excluding national parks)
All regular fishing regulations still apply, including size and catch limits
Open to residents and visitors of all ages
