For a limited time, Winnipeggers living on low income can spay/neuter their dog for free, thanks to a generous donation from a Winnipeg resident and the support of select local veterinary clinics.
To qualify, your dog must nr licensed and must be a Winnipeg resident, and one of the following must apply: you have a social assistance case number, have an economic family income below the low-income cut-off, or you are a new permanent resident or refugee who has been in Canada for less than 18 months and have not filed a tax return.

Spaying or neutering your dog helps prevent unplanned litters, provides health benefits, reduces roaming and other behaviour problems, improves community safety, and provides a significant discount when licensing.p
Qualifying residents with unlicensed dogs can access the service with the purchase of a 12-month license at a discounted rate of $40.25.
