Select indoor arenas are now open at 25 percent capacity for casual ice rentals and public skating. Visitors will be required to wear a mask, follow provincial public health orders and provide contact information upon entry in the event contract tracing is required by Public Health.
Customers are asked to use the self-assessment symptom checklist before entering the facility.
Dressing rooms will be open with limited capacity to ensure social distancing guidelines are maintained.
Hand sanitizing stations will be available at each entrance.
Vending machines will not be available and water fountains will be available for bottle refills only.

Booking Public Skating Blocks
Residents are encouraged to book public skating blocks prior to arriving at the facilities, as there is no guarantee of available blocks for registration upon arrival.
Capacity is limited to ensure physical distancing guidelines are maintained and following provincial guidelines. Individuals are asked to maintain a distance of at least two metres from every other individual who is not in their household and respect and follow the directional signage and floor markings. Customers are asked to use the self-assessment symptom checklist before entering the facility.
Please note: arena doors may be locked 15 minutes after the public skating block begins – please ensure you arrive on time.
Public Skating Rules
- Face masks covering the mouth, nose and chin are to be worn at all times in City of Winnipeg facilities, including during participation in physical activity.
- We reserve the right to limit the number of skaters on the ice at one time.
- Skate only in the direction set by skate patrol.
- No food or drinks allowed on the ice.
- Training bars are to remain in the beginners’ area (note: no training bars provided).
- Strollers, sleighs, hockey sticks and footwear (other than skates) are NOT allowed on the ice surface.
- No throwing objects (elbow pad, gloves).
- No piggyback skating (including parents carrying their child).
- Penalty box, players’ benches are out of bounds.
- No dangerous skating (i.e. tag, crack the whip, fast skating, weaving through traffic, backwards skating, spins or figure skating).
- Cell phones are not to be used while skating, please leave the ice surface if you get a call.
- We strongly recommend the use of a CSA-approved hockey helmet and cage for all ages
