Only open for 2 days a year for this special event!! Explore Winnipeg’s very own Victorian gaol and delve into true crime stories about rapscallions, bootleggers, soiled doves, and murderers. Visitors can stand in cells that once housed those involved in the Winnipeg General Strike, the infamous Gorilla Strangler, solitary confinement, and more. For over 50 years, this historic building and its inhabitants left an indelible mark on local and Canadian history, both good and bad. Join in for this unique experience and uncover Winnipeg’s darker historical side! Commemorate your visit with a jail t-shirt, books, and more!

On both days, guided tours featuring historical reenactments will run every 20 minutes starting at 9:00am, with the last tour departing at 4:00pm. Tours will last approximately 75 minutes and accommodate a maximum of 40 guests. No registration required!
