Discover the joy of winter with free Learn to Winter programming at The Forks, featuring activities like warming hut tours, DJs on Ice, skating lessons, storytelling and drumming, and winter wellness classes. Activities run each weekend weather permitting and are open to the public.
Celebrate the season with a free Winter Family Fun Day featuring indoor and outdoor activities for all ages. Enjoy cross-country skiing, skating, tobogganing, crafts, puppy visits, family games, local author readings, and an indoor movie finale.
Celebrate the transition into March with a guided night ski through Assiniboine Park under the full moon. This free event invites participants to arrive at 6:00 PM to get gear before the ski begins at 6:30 PM.

Join Cree Knowledge Keeper Marilyn Dykstra and Traditional Helper Peyton for a free session exploring Cree teachings of respect, reciprocity, and relationships with all beings. Registration is required, and the first 25 registered participants will have the opportunity to make a pony bead flower keychain.
Join local fitness instructor Matt Koldon for a different winter workout each Sunday as part of The Forks’ Learn to Winter programming. This free outdoor fitness session runs weather permitting and encourages visitors to stay active and enjoy winter.
Take to the ice with guided skating lessons offered on a drop-in, first-come, first-served basis for all ages and skill levels. Participants meet in the Tower Atrium of The Forks Market, and skate rentals are available at Iceland’s Skate Rentals.
Gather around the fire in the teepee with Elder Barbara Nepinak for storytelling and drumming as part of The Forks’ Learn to Winter programming. This free experience runs weather permitting and offers a meaningful way to connect through stories and song.
Join Winnipeg Public Library for a free, drop-in Family Engineering Fun session featuring hands-on building challenges with blocks, Keva Planks, K’Nex, and more. Designed for children and their families, this program encourages creativity and teamwork, with caregivers responsible for supervising younger participants.

Take a trip around the world at HPT Family Fusion with a free family evening featuring traditional foods, hands-on cultural crafts, and interactive activities celebrating different countries and cultures. Registration is required to attend.
Escape the winter with a tropical-themed Family Fun Night featuring games, crafts, activities, and music for all ages. This free Beach Party event brings the fun indoors for a lively evening with the community, and no registration is required.
Join St. Vital Centre Kids Club and the University of Manitoba’s Let’s Talk Science outreach team for a free, hands-on STEM experience designed for young learners and their families. Kids can explore interactive science, technology, engineering, and math activities through engaging stations that spark curiosity and creativity.

Visit the prairie and warm up inside with free drop-in activities for all ages at the Living Prairie Museum. This week’s theme is Nature Journals, where participants can customize a mini journal and use prompts to draw, write, and observe the natural world.
Enjoy a DJ Skate Night with music, skating, and concessions while attending the Annual General Meeting to help shape the future of the community centre. Board members and volunteers are welcome to get involved.
Enjoy an all-ages, family-friendly contra dance practice featuring beginner-friendly, low-impact dances that are teamwork-based and fully called. Greg Allan returns as caller and instructor, and the event is by donation.
