Celebrate Makar Sankranti with a Festival of Kites!

The Gujarati Cultural Society of Manitoba (GCSM) is hosting their annual Festival of Kites to celebrate Makar Sankranti. This free event will be held on July 27th, 2024, from 2 PM to 8 PM at La Barriere Park (4403 Waverley Street, La Salle, MB ROG 0A1).

There will be something for everyone at the festival, including:

• Kite flying
• Cultural food
• Music
• Garba
• Prizes
• Bouncy castle
• Face painting
• Henna
• Job fair

Free Bus Shuttle

Due to limited parking at the park, the GCSM is offering a free bus shuttle this year. This is a great eco-friendly option to avoid long lines and walking distances.

Pre-Order Your Kites

Avoid the lines and pre-order your kites online! You can then pick them up conveniently at the event. Sale starts soon! More details coming soon.

Festival Essentials

• Bring cash to purchase food and drinks. While water bottles will be available for purchase, it is recommended to bring your own refillable water bottle. *Sunscreen, hat and sunglasses are recommended for sun protection
• Consider bringing portable chairs or picnic blankets for seating
• Bring a picnic umbrella or tent for shade
