Lights On the Exchange is a free winter public art festival featuring large-scale light projections and installations by Canadian and Manitoban artists. The artworks are spread throughout the Exchange District and can be explored at your own pace.

Music & Makers: Love Edition
Date: February 13–14 | 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Venue: The Forks Market, Room 201

Music & Makers: Love Edition is a free two-day event celebrating local love with live music, unique makers, and small businesses at The Forks Market. Guests can enjoy performances by local artists while shopping for one-of-a-kind gifts and supporting the local creative community.

Manitoba Winter Trails Day
Date: February 14
Venue: Multiple provincial parks across Manitoba

Manitoba Winter Trails Day celebrates winter trails across the province with guided hikes, snowshoe adventures, and drop-in activities at select provincial parks. Manitobans can also enjoy free access to provincial parks throughout February, with special programming on Winter Trails Day at locations including Birds Hill, Clearwater Lake, Spruce Woods, and Whiteshell Provincial Parks.

IKEA Winnipeg $1 Breakfast – Valentine’s Day 2026

Venue: IKEA Winnipeg Restaurant, 500 Sterling Lyon Parkway

IKEA Winnipeg is bringing back its $1 Traditional Breakfast on Valentine’s Day. IKEA Family members can enjoy a classic hot breakfast from opening until 11:00 AM, with proceeds supporting Breakfast Club of Canada.

Sweetheart Powwow

Venue: RBC Convention Centre, 375 York Avenue

Kigamikamin brings the community together for the Sweetheart Powwow at the RBC Convention Centre. This free event features Grand Entries at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM, a feast at 5:00 PM, host and co-host drums, head dancers, and special guests. Donations of non-perishable food items, new mitts, hats, and socks are gratefully accepted in support of Morgan’s Warriors.

A Lovey-Dovey Second Saturday at Dalnavert

The East End Carnival Event is a multi-day community celebration featuring a hockey tournament, carnival games, a pancake breakfast, and a silent auction, with activities for all ages.

Learn to Winter: Warming Huts Tours

Venue: Travel Manitoba Building, The Forks

This free one-hour outdoor tour explores new and fan-favourite Warming Huts along the Nestaweya River Trail, guided by Tineke Buiskool-Leeuwma. Tours are weather permitting and ticketed.

Mobile Ski Library @ Living Prairie Museum

The Mobile Ski Library brings cross-country skis, snowshoes, kicksleds, and adaptive equipment to Living Prairie Museum for a free, family-friendly winter outing. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Hoop Dancing with Brian Clyne

This in-person program features a hoop dance performance by Brian Clyne with singing by Clifford Spence, followed by a short workshop exploring the origins and meaning of hoop dance for children and families.

Youth and Adult Snowshoe Adventure

Venue: Interpretive Workshop (end of Nimowin Road), Birds Hill Provincial Park, 2000 Nimowin Road

This guided snowshoe adventure invites youth and adults ages 11+ to explore the Nimowin Trail with a Manitoba Parks interpreter while learning to identify animal tracks, scat, and other signs of winter wildlife. Snowshoes are provided or participants may bring their own, and the experience wraps up with hot chocolate around a bonfire.

Cineplex Family Favourites: How to Train Your Dragon
