For anyone who loves nature, wildlife, and making a difference, here’s a great opportunity—Assiniboine Park volunteer opportunities are now open for 2025! Whether it’s helping visitors, supporting conservation, or working with animals, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Why Become an Assiniboine Park Volunteer?

Becoming an Assiniboine Park volunteer is a great way to connect with nature, meet new people, and gain valuable experience. Volunteers play a big role in making the Zoo, The Leaf, and the Park a welcoming and exciting place for visitors. Plus, it’s a chance to give back while spending time in one of Winnipeg’s most beautiful spots.

Volunteer Roles for Adults & Teens

There are opportunities for both adults and teens, depending on interests and skills. Engagement Ambassadors and Visitor Services Concierges help guests find their way, answer questions, and ensure they have a great visit. Animal Care Workforce Volunteers get hands-on experience assisting Zoo staff with daily tasks.

Teens can earn volunteer hours while making a difference. Camp Crew members help run children’s camps, engaging young campers in fun activities. Teen Engagement Ambassadors assist visitors at the Zoo and The Leaf, while the new Conservation Outreach & Leadership Team is perfect for teens passionate about the environment, offering fieldwork and conservation education opportunities.

How to Apply for Assiniboine Park Volunteer Opportunities

Applications for 2025 are open now! Here’s how to get started:

  1. Apply online at the volunteer opportunities page.
  2. Attend an interview at the Volunteer Resource Centre inside the Zoo.
