  • Christmas Day (December 25, 2024): All City of Winnipeg civic offices will be closed.
  • Boxing Day (December 26, 2024): Civic offices will remain closed on Boxing Day as well.
  • Garbage/Recycling Collection: No collection services will be available on either Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

Public Transportation

  • Christmas Day: Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.
  • Boxing Day: Winnipeg Transit will continue to operate on a Sunday schedule.

  • Christmas Day & Boxing Day: Indoor pools, fitness, and leisure centres will be closed.

Shopping Malls

  • Christmas Day: All major shopping centres, including Kildonan Place, Grant Park, Outlet Collection Winnipeg, St. Vital Centre, and Polo Park, will be closed.
  • Boxing Day: Most shopping centres will reopen with extended hours:
    • Kildonan Place: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
    • Grant Park: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
    • Outlet Collection Winnipeg: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM
    • St. Vital Centre: 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
    • Polo Park: 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
    • Garden City Shopping Centre: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Grocery Stores and Retailers

  • Christmas Day: Most grocery stores and retailers, including Costco and Manitoba Liquor Marts, will be closed.
  • Boxing Day:
    • Costco: 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM
    • Home Depot: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
    • IKEA: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
