Essential Mail Locations in Manitoba During the Canada Post Strike

The Canada Post strike has disrupted mail delivery across the country, but Manitobans can still access essential mail locations to ensure they don’t miss important items like cheques or benefits. Starting November 20, the Manitoba government has set up pick-up and drop-off locations across the province. These locations are designed to help people receive critical mail and send official correspondence without delay.

What You Need to Know Before Visiting Essential Mail Locations

  • Bring ID: To pick up your mail, bring one piece of photo ID or two pieces of non-photo ID with your current address. If picking up a tax refund for a business, an Authorization or Cancellation of a Representative form is required.
  • Direct Deposit Perks: Payments or benefits received via direct deposit remain unaffected.
  • Sending Mail: When sending mail to provincial departments, include the room number, street address, and city/town.
  • Office Hours: Most essential mail locations are open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Questions? Call 1-866-626-4862 (toll-free) or 204-945-3744, or visit gov.mb.ca/contact/index.html.
