Visit the library this Spring Break for fun programs for kids and teens. Celebrate the books of Mo Willems with Elephant and Piggie,
listen to the music of the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, or learn how to detect DNA in a STEM program led by University of Manitoba students, plus much more!

Reading with Raptors

Owls and falcons will be swooping into the library with staff from the Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. Staff will bring an owl, falcon, or other wild animals and together we will read stories and learn interesting facts about these wondrous creatures. Registration
Required. Ages 6-12. 60 minutes.

Manitoba Chamber Orchestra

The Manitoba Chamber Orchestra comes to the Library with live – and lively – performances. Best enjoyed by children ages 5-12 and their families. 45 minutes. Registration Required.



Codemakers & Codemakers Jr.

Codemakers Jr. – Have you heard of coding and wondered what it was all about? This workshop will introduce coding concepts through “unplugged” physical activity and a programmable mouse game. Presented by WISE Kid-Netic Energy. Ages 6-8.

Codemakers – Come join us to learn the basics of coding! Use logic and drag and drop programming to play with Dash robots controlled by tablets. Presented by WISE Kid-Netic Energy. Ages 9-12.

Rosie Revere Balloon Cars

Read Rosie Revere, Engineer by Andrea Beaty, and learn about the engineering design process by making a balloon powered car. Presented by WISE Kid-Netic Energy. Ages 6-8.

Science on the Run

Learn about polymer chemistry through a series of exciting experiments that show off different chemical changes such as heat, color change and surface tension. Then create a bouncy ball and mix a creepy cool alien egg. Presented by WISE Kid-Netic Energy. Ages 9-12.

Science Snippets

Enjoy trying out different types of science! Be a chemist and discover the difference between baking soda and powder. Create a fantastical creature while investigating dominant and recessive genes. Make a pompom launcher and explore physics. Discover aeronautics by building and testing a plane. A snippet is just the start!
