Learn to Winter @ The Forks
Date: Saturday and Sundays until February 25

  • Skate, Ski, Snowshoe Lessons | Saturdays and Sundays, 12 PM – 4 PM
    • Skiing – 12 PM and 2 PM
    • Skating – 1 PM and 3 PM
    • Snowshoeing – 2 PMThese lessons are offered on a drop-in basis. Guests are invited to bring their own equipment. Skate rentals are available at Icelands Skate Rentals, in The Forks Market. Ski and snowshoe rentals can be arranged with the Winnipeg Trails Association.
  • Live Music by The Canopy | Sundays from 12 PM – 4 PM

  • Storytelling in the Teepee | Sundays from 12 PM – 4 PM
    • Join Elder Barbara Nepinak around the fire in the teepee for stories and drumming.
  •  Warming Hut Tours | Saturdays at 1 PM (start date later in January, stay tuned!)
    • These tours will give participants the opportunity to explore and learn more about the six new Warming Huts at The Forks, plus other fan favourites from previous winters. Check back for a registration link for these free tours!

Lohri Mela 2024

Venue: RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg, 375 York Avenue

Lohri is a popular winter folk festival celebrated primarily in Northern India, especially in the Punjab region. It marks the end of the cold season and the beginning of longer and warmer days. It is also a time to express gratitude to the farmers and the Sun God for the bountiful crops.

There will be cultural performances, crafts and shopping, and food stalls.

Manitoba Sports Hall Of Fame

Celebrate the history and achievements of sports in the province. It was established in 1980 and has inducted over 500 individuals and teams from various sports, such as hockey, curling, speed skating, basketball, and more. Originating in the 1960s, the Festival of Carols has already become a beloved and long-awaited community event.
Oseredok is proud to continue the beautiful Ukrainian Christmas tradition of singing koliadky (carols) and schedrivky (New Year’s songs) this holiday season as well. We unite choirs from across Winnipeg, sharing this cherished custom with the public and bringing the community together for this special performance.
The event starts at 2 p.m. and is presented at no cost, although donations are graciously accepted.

Children must be accompanied an adult. Child and adult size snowshoes available, or bring your own. Afterwards, enjoy hot chocolate around the bonfire.
