10+ Free Winnipeg Weekend Events October 2-4

Celebrate arts and culture with free and accessible events across Manitoba. Enjoy live performances, exhibitions, workshops, Indigenous arts, family activities, community celebrations and more during the final weekend of Culture Days Manitoba.

Honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with free admission to the Museum Galleries, Planetarium and Science Gallery. Special programming includes Project of Heart, powwow performances, Indigenous art, beading and activities focused on the history and legacy of residential schools.

Celebrate fall with an evening of family activities, local shopping, food and community fun at Pages & Pumpkins Fall Fest. Main Street will feature the Bookmobile and library, Clydesdale rides, Prairie Putt, pumpkin decorating, kids' activities and bouncers, a sunflower challenge, seed harvesting and seasoning demonstrations, line dancing and a fall photo area. Visitors can also browse a makers market featuring local crafters and unique goods, plus a food market with vendors, treats and local eats.

Visit the Canadian Museum for Human Rights with free admission on the first Sunday of every month. Explore inspiring exhibitions, interactive galleries, and powerful stories that highlight the importance of human rights in Canada and around the world. Advance ticket reservations are recommended, as capacity may be limited.

Explore galleries, studios, museums, shops and creative spaces throughout the Exchange District during First Fridays. Enjoy exhibitions, live music, performances and community activities, with free street parking after 5:30 PM.

Explore more than 150 years of Winnipeg policing history through exhibits featuring historic uniforms, equipment, photographs, forensic displays, and unique artifacts. Admission is free.

Celebrate Manitoba's sporting heritage through exhibits, memorabilia, photographs, and stories featuring hundreds of outstanding athletes, builders, and championship teams. Admission is free.

Enjoy an afternoon of acoustic music featuring alumni of the Winnipeg Folk Festival's Young Performers Program. Weather permitting, the performance will take place outdoors behind the library, so bring a blanket or short lawn chair. In poor weather, the concert will move indoors to the library's program room.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by visiting participating restaurants and trying their official Food Tour dishes. Free tickets are required to participate. Registration is available through the link in the Manitoba Latin American Alliance Instagram bio. After visiting a participating restaurant, follow the organizer's instructions to register your visit and enter the prize draw.

Enjoy a free community movie night featuring Monsters, Inc. at Bord-Aire Community Centre. Bring the family for an easygoing evening at the movies, with a cash canteen available during the event.

Students in Grades 9–12 can explore engineering through a hands-on project presented with the Neil Squire Society and Makers Making Change. Participants will adapt toys by disassembling and soldering them before the toys are donated to children with disabilities in Manitoba. Registration is required and space is limited.

Experience live Standardbred harness racing at The LOOP at Red River Exhibition Park. October 3 is the final Saturday of the 2026 racing season. Admission and parking are free, with food and beverages available for purchase.

Get into the Halloween spirit with a free kids craft at IKEA Winnipeg. Children can decorate characters and spoons with fun Halloween designs, and costumes are welcome. Sessions run from 1:00–2:00 PM and 2:00–3:00 PM.

Enjoy an open-air evening of music and community at Music at the Park: Soundtracks & Harmonies. Musicians, singers and music lovers of all skill levels are invited to participate, while visitors can bring lawn chairs and simply enjoy the music and community atmosphere.

Enjoy live music featuring local bands across rock, country, and blues genres in a lively weekend atmosphere. This recurring event is a popular nightlife option in the city.

Catch all the UFC 332 action live on the big screens at Loft 180 inside McPhillips Station Casino. Watch the fights with fellow UFC fans and experience the strikes, takedowns and knockouts in a lively casino atmosphere.
