What You Need to Know About Wading Pools
- Wading pools are free of charge for children 12 and under and their parent/guardian to enjoy, except where paid admission is required.
- Wading pools have a maximum depth of 45 – 60 cm (18 – 24 inches). They are not suitable for swimming or diving.
- Children under 7 years of age must have a parent or guardian 12 years of age or older actively supervising them at the pool.
- Wading pools have rules for the safety and enjoyment of all participants. For example, no glass containers, no pets, no running or rough play, etc.
- Wading pools may be closed throughout the day if any of the following conditions arise: bad weather, water quality issues, maintenance problems, etc. You can check the status of wading pools on the city’s website or by calling 311.
- Wading pools are open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., unless otherwise posted. Some wading pools may have different hours or days of operation depending on the location and demand.
