Attention all Manitobans: brace yourselves, winter isn’t over yet! According to our trusted source, Environment Canada, more snow is coming to southern Manitoba on Thursday. While some folks in western Manitoba are already dealing with a winter storm, those of you in the Red River Valley and areas to the east will only get a few scattered rain showers mixed with wet snow. Oh joy!

But wait, there’s more! On Thursday, a second disturbance is expected to push northward from the US, bringing yet another round of heavy, wet snow to southern Manitoba. So, if you haven’t already put away your shovels and snow boots, now might not be the best time to retire them just yet.

Be prepared for another 10 to 20 cm of snow, folks! Sure, there will be some melting and compaction, but that won’t stop the snowfall from being intense at times on Thursday. So, if you’re lucky enough to live in one of the regions where a snowfall warning is issued, make sure to take it seriously and stay safe out there.

Hold on to your toques, folks, because there’s another surprise in store for southern Manitoba! The snow is set to persist throughout much of Friday before finally pulling out of the province on Friday evening. And to add insult to injury, temperatures are expected to remain below normal, with single-digit temperatures expected to linger for a while. So, get ready to break out the hot cocoa and the cozy blankets, folks!
