It was established in 1980 and has inducted over 500 individuals and teams from various sports, such as hockey, curling, speed skating, basketball, and more. Join us as we celebrate the exhibition opening of Threads of Kin and Belonging: A Trinnipeg Live Mixtape Project. Curated by Nestor Wynrush and Julia Lafreniere.
Threads of Kin and Belonging is a visual art exhibition accompanying the 4th Trinnipeg Live Mixtape project. The first three iterations took place at The Tallest Poppy (Winnipeg, MB), West End Cultural Centre (Winnipeg, MB) and the Remai Modern Art Museum (Saskatoon, SK). This project is an intervention and conversation between Indigenous Nations and Black communities on Treaty One Territory. It is about creating, defining, and collaborating in a space by us and for usβour kin. We are exploring our collective histories and our unique, but intertwined futuresβto create threads of kin and belonging.
