The We Are Winter Celebration is a 3-day winter event that showcases the beauty and joy of the season. It’s an opportunity for families and friends to come together and enjoy a variety of free activities, live entertainment, and cozy experiences. With sparkling lights and a festive atmosphere, it’s a magical way to celebrate winter.

Event Highlights:

Free Equipment Rentals: Skiing, skating, snowshoeing, and kicksledding are available through Winnipeg Trails. Equipment is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and includes options for adults, kids, and individuals with mobility needs.

Sauna Experience: Luxurious cedar barrel saunas offer a chance to relax and recharge with a free 1-hour session. Using the promo code Wearewinter2025 allows participants to pre-register and secure their spot.

Ice Bike Rentals: Ice biking is a unique and fun activity available on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 pm–8:00 pm. It’s something worth trying for anyone looking for a new winter experience.

FRIDAY, January 10

80s Skate & Ski Night (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) 

  • Get ready to groove and glide at the ultimate throwback winter party of the season as we take you back to the totally tubular 1980s!
  • DJ Lucky Sharms will be spinning the best 80s jams all night long.
  • Wear your neon leg warmers, big hair, and boldest ski suits.
  • Lace up your skates, strap on your skis, and get ready for a night full of retro fun, rad vibes, and unforgettable memories.
  • Performances by drag artists Miss Gender, Edyn Peaches, and Lady Fortuna will take place at 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm on and off the ice.

SATURDAY, January 11

Outdoor Movie Night: Frozen (4:00 pm – 6:00 pm)

  • Join special guests Elsa and Anna for a fun-filled night of music, singing, and frozen outdoor fun.
  • Watch the movie while skating, in the Duck Pond shelter, from Cargo Bar, or around one of our cozy fire pits. You can also bring your own lawn chairs or blankets!

Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers (6:00 pm – 8:00 pm) 

  • Get your toes tapping and hands clapping at Cargo Bar with the Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers.
  • Enjoy jigging, fiddling, and a festive time for the whole family.

Night Ski for Beginners (6:30 pm – 7:45 pm)

  • Join Winnipeg Trails and other beginners for a group night ski around the heart of the Park.
  • Register online in advance to reserve your spot.
  • Drop-ins are also welcome.

SUNDAY, January 12

Glow Skate (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) 

  • Dress in your brightest neon winter gear and glow in the snow accessories to light up the night and create an illuminated winter wonderland.
  • Don’t miss this chance to enjoy an unforgettable night on the ice, complete with music, lights, and plenty of winter magic.

Additional Entertainment:

  • Live Music: DJ GeNie provides music throughout the weekend, with performances on Saturday from 12:00 pm–4:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 pm–8:00 pm.
