Dr. Goodbear, Manitoba’s mascot for hope and healing, is inviting families to a beloved community tradition – the 36th Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Assiniboine Park on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Kids can bring their favorite teddy bear for a fun-filled day, starting with the Teddy Bears’ Pancake Breakfast by IHOP from 9 to 11:30 AM, and enjoy an unforgettable celebration that supports children’s health care.
This Winnipeg tradition, started by volunteers over 36 years ago, now features more than 20 activity tents. Highlights include the Dr. Goodbear Clinic, run by frontline staff from HSC Children’s Hospital, where teddy bears get “check-ups” with MRIs, X-rays, and casts, plus the I Want to be a Scientist Tent by the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM), inspiring kids with hands-on science activities.
Families can also look forward to entertainment, food vendors, and opportunities to support the cause through volunteering, sponsorships, and the Teddy Bears’ Picnic 50/50 Raffle. After last year’s triumphant return, this year promises to be even bigger – a day of hope, healing, and fun for all ages.
