Free the Spirit Festival

The Free the Spirit Festival supports the St.Amant Foundation, offering an opportunity to support and celebrate diversity within the community. This inclusive event has activities for all abilities, including the 2k Walk (or Roll) and the 5k Run. Funds raised help enhance the quality of life for more than 5,000 people with developmental disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injuries by creating opportunities for friendships, activity, independence, and fun.
What to Expect on September 20:
- Kids’ activities: inflatable bouncers, face painting, games, animal interactions, bubbles, and more
- Food and live entertainment for children and adults
- 2k Fun Walk – Free to join
- 5k Run – $25 registration fee
- Artisans Market
- Free admission and free registration for the Walk
Frequently Asked Questions
I want to join the 2k Walk, do I have to register?
No – registration is not required to participate in the 2k Walk. However, registering allows you to create a fundraising page to collect pledges. All walkers are encouraged to collect pledges – every dollar counts!
I want to join the 5k Run, do I have to register?
Yes – registration is required to participate in the 5k Run. It ensures safety measures for participants. The 5k Run also has a $25 registration fee.
I want to collect pledges but don't think I can raise a large amount, should I still register and create a fundraising page?
Yes – everyone is encouraged to register and start collecting pledges. There is no amount too small when it comes to fundraising.
I can't make it to the Festival, can I still collect pledges to help raise funds?
Yes – simply register for the “Walk OR Collect Pledges” option online and create your fundraising page. Paper pledge forms are also available at freethespiritfestival.ca.
Is everything at the Festival on Saturday, September 20 free?
Thanks to incredible sponsors, activities such as inflatable bouncers, face painting, bubble lab, popcorn station, animal encounters, live entertainment, browsing the Artisans Market, and more are all free. Lunch tickets are available for purchase on-site, and donations are warmly welcomed.
