Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day with a vibrant day of music, cultural teachings, family-friendly fun, and community connection at Assiniboine Park. Activities take place at the outdoor Gardens at The Leaf and inside The Leaf classroom.


🌟 Activities & Entertainment

All Day (11:00 AM – 5:00 PM):

  • Live music, dancing, and performances at the Performance Garden

  • Fire and tobacco teachings at the Fire Node in the Indigenous Peoples Garden

  • Food trucks on-site: Sol Food Truck, GG Gelati, La Taqueria, Zah Pizza Bistro, and Pubtoba

  • Community booths featuring CancerCare Manitoba, Canadian Parks & Wilderness Society, and Manitoba Blue Cross

11:00 AM – 4:00 PM:

  • Bouncy castle and face painting with Legends Characters at The Grove

  • Teepee Teachings in the Indigenous Peoples Garden

🎨 Workshops & Teachings with Summer Fisher

πŸ“ Tannis M. Richardson Classroom inside The Leaf

  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Tobacco Tie Teaching

  • 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM: Dangled Beaded Earrings Teachings

  • 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Bannock Making Workshop

Summer Fisher, an Anishinaabe artist from Nipissing First Nation, will share her teachings throughout the day.
