Manitoba is reeling in families for a splashing good time with their Free Fishing Weekend from February 14-16, 2025. This is the perfect opportunity to spend quality time outdoors with loved ones and experience the thrill of catching a fish.

  • Dates:February 14-16, 2025
  • Location: Throughout Manitoba’s lakes, rivers, and streams (no fishing license required during this weekend, excluding National Parks)
  • Cost: Free!

What Families Can Expect

  • The chance to catch a variety of fish species like walleye, pike, perch, and smallmouth bass.
  • A memorable opportunity to bond with family and friends while enjoying Manitoba’s beautiful nature.
  • A chance to explore the stunning lakes, rivers, and streams Manitoba has to offer.

Before You Head Out

  • Important Note: While a fishing license is not required during this weekend, National Parks within Manitoba are excluded. Be sure to check regulations if you plan on fishing in these areas.
  • Review the specific fishing regulations for the body of water you’ll be visiting. These regulations can be found online or at local tackle shops.
  • Always prioritize safety by following safe fishing practices.
  • Pack plenty of food, drinks, and sunscreen to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable outing.
