Celebrate Canada Day 2023 at The Forks with a Spectacular Drone Show πŸŽ†

The theme for Canada Day 2023 at The Forks is Finding our North Star, which reflects our collective journey of finding our way after a challenging year. The theme also honours the Indigenous star teachings that have guided generations of people across this land.

The festivities will start at 12 pm and run until 10:30 pm, with something for everyone to enjoy. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Watch a soccer game between two local teams on the field near the Canadian Museum for Human Rights
  • Grab a bite from one of the many food trucks or picnic tables on site, or visit The Forks Market for more dining options
  • Learn about the history and culture of The Forks through workshops and tours led by Indigenous elders and guides

Highlights (continued)

  • Listen to live music from local artists on the stage in front of The Forks Market, curated by Manitoba Music
  • Explore the art installations and exhibits throughout The Forks, including the Oodena Celebration Circle and the Peace Meeting Site
  • Experience the Acakos drone show, a stunning display of 100 drones that will create shapes and patterns in the sky, accompanied by a narration by Cree astronomer Wilfred Buck. The show is inspired by his traditional teachings about the North Star and other celestial phenomena.
